1. SCARF MOVEMENT

WHAT YOU NEED:

Scarf (or anything like that  - like a thin, longer dish towel, will work)

2. FILL-IN-THE-BLANK

PREP: 

Write up sentences (word sets) on the board. 

[Use the same pattern example in the picture below for any of the verses].

Jr. Primary Adaptation: Choose less fill-in-the blank words and use picture sets instead of words.

Ex: Joseph (picture of Joseph, a grandma, and a clown). Kids choose which one fits (i.e. Joseph).

3. DRESS-UP/ACT OUT

PREP: 

Prepare simple costume pieces and props

-cloth sack with bread and cheese in it

-Joseph & Mary Costume

-Stick horse "donkey" if you have one  - or just use a broom

-Bathrobe with towel or scarf/shawl on the head-tie strip around for headband -  is a really simple, no sewing costume for Joseph and sheet draped around shoulders and longer thin towel or scarf/shawl over head/shoulders for Mary.

4. GUESS WHO NATIVITY

WHAT YOU NEED: 

Nativity figures (from Friend Dec 2021- pictured below or Nativity Activity Bundle-pictured above)

Clues for nativity characters - below

HOW TO PLAY:

Cut out the people from the December friend (except Samuel the Lamanite) and put them in numbered bags on the board. In between songs for that day (or every couple of phrases of When Joseph Went to Bethlehem), choose a class to pick a number and read the clue. If they guess the person right, open the bag and place the person on the board.

I was visited by an angel

He told me God's Son would be called Jesus

I traveled to Bethlehem riding a donkey

There was no room in the inn so Jesus was born to me in a stable

I wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a Manger

I was visited by an angel

I was afraid when I saw the angel, but the angel spoke of peace and great joy
