2. WORD/PICS/DEFENITIONS MATCH
Reinforce the meaning of the words with definitions and pictures matching.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Keywords from the Song
Definitions & Synonyms
Pictures that go along with the Keywords - available in the "I Will Be Valiant" bundle
HOW TO USE:
Put the words God's work, Valiant, Servant, and Covenants on the top of the board.
Display the other pictures in a group on the side of the board.
(For Sr. Primary), Divide the word strips out around the group. Give to the teachers to pass out to kids in their class. Briefly talk about what valiant, covenants, and servants mean.
Then as everyone is singing, invite any kids who think they have a word that describes VALIANT, to come up and put it on the board under that word. At the end of the song, check the words by reading them aloud to the kids and fixing, if needed.
Repeat the song but this time when you get to the word VALIANT, sing that word then repeat that word's notes over and over again, singing all the other words under valiant (ex: "And keep my cov'nants in a Valiant, brave, true, kind, honest, clean, smart... way!") then finish singing the song.
Repeat the song and as everyone sings, invite anyone up with a word that describes SERVANT to come put them on the board under that word. Read through then repeat the song and when you get to the word SERVANT, sing that word then repeat that word's notes over again adding on HELPER, GIVER, CARE-ER (ex: "And I will be his servant, his helper, his giver, his care-er..") and finish the song.
Repeat and do the same thing for COVENANT.
PICTURES:
Invite a child up as everyone sings to match a picture with the correct words. Continue till all pictures have been matched with the words. (For Jr. Primary, give the kids an option to choose between just 2 picture that both go under the chosen word, then add to the board under that word).

WHAT YOU NEED:
Rhythm sticks and/or drums
HOW TO PLAY:
Give the kids instruments and let them play along as they sing.
Make up rhythm patterns that are appropriate according to the age levels of the kids. To challenge the older kids, you can divide the kids into sections and have each section (1 side of the room and the other), do two different rhythms as they sing).
5. PICTURE CODE COLORING
WHAT YOU NEED:
Picture Code Coloring Pages - Available in the "I Will Be Valiant" bundle

7. SONG ACTIONS & PARTNER CLAPPING
The Lord has valiant servants (march in place and put fist over heart on valiant servants)
To do His work in the latter days (digging to the beat)
To follow the teachings of Jesus (open and close hands like opening and closing a book)
And serve his people (put hands out as if giving, to the beat)
in a loving way (put hands and cross on chest)
I will be his servant (March in place as swaying arms back & forth)
and keep my covenants valiantly (grab fingers one over the other to the beat)
I'll stand for truth, I'll stand for right (march in place and put one hand over heart then the other)
The Lord can depend on me (marching and point to self)
SEATED PARTNER CLAPPING
See video below
Pat-Pat own knees
Pat-Pat partner knee/your knee (to left)
Pat-Pat own knees
Clap own hands
Pat-Pat own knees
Pat-Pat partner knee/your knee (to right)
Pat-Pat own knees
Clap own hands
For JUNIOR PRIMARY:
Just have them pat their own knees anytime on "pat" then on
"clap" have them clap partners hands (or just their own).
8. VALIANT I SPY
WHAT YOU NEED:
I SPY POSTER - available in the "I will be Valiant" bundle
HOW TO USE:
Put up the poster and let students "spy" different valiant acts.
You can say "stop" or "freeze" after each phrase and call on a student to name something they see in the picture and very quickly talk about if that's a "valiant" action or not. Repeat the song until the kids have named all the valiant acts in the poster.
10. ALUMINUM SWORDS/SHIELDS
[Idea and photos thanks to Angela S. Plastow]
WHAT YOU NEED:
Few rolls of aluminum paper
Black paper
Clear tape
Foam plates
Cardboard
Depending on the size of your primary I recommend starting a few days early so it's not so much work for one day. You can staple sword handles(black paper) with stapler.
This was an activity to review the song, we talked about training to do something hard for example firefighters, police, doctors they need a lot of training to do their job well. And we do the same to resist temptation. The sword and shield represented prayer and reading scriptures the more we do it the stronger we get spiritually but if we don't train we might not be in good enough shape to resist temptations.
First, we marched to the song and then I taught them to raise the word with right hand step forward then back then do like a hook in kickboxing with the shield they were holding with left arm as they stepped forward a bit then step back and we kept alternating these 2 moves during the song.
They really liked it, towards the end we raised and alternated hands for "truth" and "right" and then crossed sword and shield in front of them for the part that says "The Lord can depend on me" while they nodded their heads to show "oh yeah I can do this."
