1. SONG INTRO - DIRECTED LISTENING

Ask the children to listen for words that describe what they would like someone to do for them.

List their responses on the board (lead, guide, walk beside, help, teach). Sing the song; take answers.

Ask a question about each word:

1. Who leads you? (Our Heavenly Father through prophets, scriptures, parents, teachers,

Holy Ghost)

2. What does it mean to be guided? (Someone that shows you the path, give example of

a tour guide)

3. Why would you want someone to walk beside you?

4. When the song says, "Help me find the way," what do you think it asking about? What way?

(We are put on this earth to be tested and to find our way back to our Heavenly Father)

Testify of the blessings of those that help teach and lead us (parents, teachers, leaders,

prophets, the scriptures, and the Holy Ghost).

2. KEYWORDS ACTIONS + BEAT

[Idea credit: Kellie Johnston]

Both hands pat chest once when singing the words I/I’ll/me (referencing yourself),

Clap once above your head (like a cymbal) when singing God/His/He,

Everything else lightly pat your lap with both hands to the rhythm/beat.

Hopefully I explained that well enough to understand.

My primary loved the challenge and it helped them really focus on the words. ❤️
